Getting On Season 3

HBO‘s offbeat hospital comedy Getting On will end its run with a six-episode third season. The size of the order matches the first and second seasons of the series starring Laurie Metcalf, Alex Borstein, Niecy Nash and Mel Rodriguez. HBO brass had been high on the show, an adaptation of the BBC series, which has been a respectable performer. Relying mostly on word-of-mouth — without the benefit of a big marketing campaign, big stars or noisy concept — Getting On has averaged a gross audience of 1.6 million viewers per episode. By successfully keeping the budget at a reasonable level, HBO has been able to keep the well-reviewed series on the air for three seasons.
